Well. Maybe I Should Come Clean

I gaze upon Rites of Ascension III and I feel sad and guilty. I've been letting me down; I've been letting you down; I've been letting Jurel down.
I haven't given up, I haven't stopped. I've had to take an unplanned hiatus.
I've been ill. Very ill. I'm surprised I'm still here to write this blog.
I am recuperating, albeit slowly. I've had some setbacks but finally after more than a year, the victories are outnumbering the losses. With the help of my lovely Cori and my two shining children, I have been able to fight my way back to the point where I can sit and write this. It's not much but it's a start.
I have every intention of returning to Jurel's story. I want to see the end of his story.
I just hope some of you are patient enough to bear with me a little longer.
I want to thank all of you who have not lost faith. I want to thank all the doctors who have helped me see this side of the debilitating and deadly disease that I almost succumbed to. I want to most thank my wife, my guardian angel, Cori, for being there at my side every agonizing step of the way encouraging me ever onward.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Now...about Jurel...

  1. I'm really glad you survived. Take as long as you need. I'll definitely be buying the book whenever it releases.

And, to be honest, other authors take far longer between books for far less serious reasons. Good luck in your fight.

  2. Thank you very much for the update. I'm glad to hear that you are recuperating. Keep us all update on your recovery and progress. I for one am very much looking forward to hearing the end of Jurel's story and will wait patiently for it to come out.

  3. I'm working slowly on it. A bit at a time. This convalescence is killing me.
    Or...
Maybe not the best turn of phrase?
Tell you what (possible spoiler alert?): Metana turns out to be an important factor. A balance, if you will.

  11. I liked the books, but now I am mad at the author for not even giving an update in 9 months. My patience has run out. Ill find something else to read. Ps what was the cyber bullying thing about?

  12. Remi plays a game called the hobbit and spends his time trolling people hiding behind his keyboard ! Fails to mention he is a substance abuser who cheats on his wife while taking moral the moral high ground ! Dont waste your time or money waiting for him to finish the book for his loyal fans

  14. Does anyone know if Remi has any plans to either finish the book or update us on his progress. I have been waiting to read the next chapter in Jurel's story, but if it is not going to be finished then I would like to stop wasting my time looking for clues as to when we might get to read the third book.

  16. What is going on Remi? Your last entry was over 14 months ago and your last response was over 1 year ago. I for one am still a huge fan of this series and would love to know how Jurel's story is gonna play out. We know you have had some troubles. Please, give us an update on how things are going. At least let us know if you have given up on the story. Thank you in advance.

  18. Remi, Give us any type of update on this book. Even if that update is telling us that you aren't going to finish it.

  19. I would guess at this point that you have given up on finishing the book. Any possibility of passing it on to another writer to finish?

  20. Hi Remi,

I am enjoying reading your series and I do hope you are getting better, more because everyone deserves to live life to its fullest, embracing every moment with joy and anticipation. If you get to finish the series great, if not its been a delight reading the story thus far

  22. Are you still writing? I'm not going to berate you on your page and make you feel bad about having a life. Hell, sometimes I have to disappoint people because life happens. But it's been years with no update. Hope all is well. Hope to see more of Jurel, but please let us know if we'll ever see his story finished, or if we have to move on.

    1. I've been following this website on and off for nearly 9 years now, waiting and hoping for the third book.

I've read that you've been ill, however with no reply since 2013 or there about, I'm actually wondering if your still alive ?

Sorry, but somebody had to stick their hand up and ask the question.
